Meredith Lloyd-Evans, Managing Director of BioBridge Ltd, began his career as a veterinarian, then joined SmithKline Animal Health UK Ltd and became the Technical Director UK and Coordinator for veterinary pharmaceutical product development in Europe. He has worked in technology transfer and licensing with the British Technology Group, responsible for a portfolio of inventors, patents, projects and commercial licenses in biotechnology and biomaterials as well as animal health.
He worked briefly for the technology consultancy PA before setting up BioBridge in 1989 in Cambridge UK, which assists clients in all aspects of the innovation chain from research through start-ups to established companies, including practical project-related assistance and longer-term strategic support and analysis. He was a Board Director and Secretary of BIRA, precursor of TOPRA, and briefly chaired the TopraVet conference organising committee.
Current and recent work includes providing the independent expertise on biosecurity in the supply-chain and process validation for a company making collagen for human surgical use from animal sources, and the Global Benchmarking Surveys 2011 and 2015 for HealthforAnimals, the international animal health industry trade body. He represents the Association of Veterinary Consultants on the European Food Safety Agency’s Stakeholder Group for Emerging Risks. Throughout the past 30 years, he has represented the UK frequently in missions and conference panels in USA, Europe, Korea and Japan, on biopharma, medtech, agritech, algal biotech and animal health, has written and published numerous articles and industry reports, and has planned, chaired or presented at a wide range of events.
